Weekly Club Notes 14.08.2017

Well done To 16 year old Tristan Everton on winning the Club mens singles beating Bob Radcliffe in the final. Tristan went on to represent MBC and narrowly lose 21-19 to the seasoned Gary Voller at the Niba Champion of Champions. He had earlier this year already won the Club men’s handicap singles.
The All Natal singles commence all day Saturday at various venues including MBC. Due to the Spar women’s road race in the Park there is no bowls on Sunday at MBC but we host the playoffs and finals all day Monday. Good luck to our bowlers.
There is no Breakfast pairs this month due to the annual Winter tournament at Collegians.
The monthly Ladies bowls and lunch day at MBC takes place on Friday at 8.30. Ladies from all clubs are welcome. Confirm your attendance with Pam Spring at 0823741803.
There will be no formal tabs in this Saturday. All bowlers are welcome at our formal tabs in at 8.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Informal bowls on Fridays at 2pm and Sundays at 9.30 is available to everyone including this Sunday depending on traffic arrangements. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Patty Forbes-Milne, Keith Parsons and Alfie Smith with Don Joubert quaffing the presidents first touch free drink.
Women’s day saw 36 bowlers from MBC and West clash in the bi annual Quart Cup informal bowls challenge with MBC regaining the Cup in style. The winner of the Women’s day flowers was Melanie Hargreaves.
The Kitchen is open Tuesdays to Sundays for breakfast and lunch with Sunday lunch being a roast. Curry and lasagne is on offer Thursday evenings to eat in or take away. Visitors welcome.
The 6pm Friday attendance draw stands at R1600. All members are entered but must be present to win.
