Weekly club notes 23.03.2021

Our March Breakfast Pairs take place this Saturday 8.30. Place your entry on the board or phone Willie at 079 964 5130. Great meat prizes on offer. Bowlers from all clubs are welcome at our T T bowls on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8.30. March Tricky Thursday winners were Graeme Bruce and Doc Sewram.

Sunday bowls is a perfect start for new bowlers. Everyone is welcome and we have woods at the club. Last Sunday chicken winmers were Bruce Thomas, Kyle Mustard, Kevin Williams and Bob Mitchell. West narrowly retained the coveted informal bowls Quart Cup last Sunday.

The fundraiser Friday 6pm attendance draw stands at R1800. Be there to win.

Weekly Club Notes 08.03.2021

Kevin Williams and Keith Harcombe reached, but lost, the final of the NIBA Mens pairs last Saturday.

Keith Harcombe, Paul Fletcher and Gus Blackbeard won their section of the Niba mens trips last Sunday. Playoffs continue this weekend.

Our popular monthly Wednesday fours has resumed. March winners were Calvin Hollis and his side followed by Keith Harcombe’s side. Winners of losers were Andrew Bond’s side. First Wednesday of each month so don’t miss it. Men, women or mixed.

TT bowls on Tuesdays and Thursdays welcomes bowlers from all clubs.

Sunday bowls at 9am is for everyone with beginners most welcome. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Hermann Hess, Alfie Smith and Clive McAllister.

Weekly Club Notes 02.03.2021

Kevin Williams and Keith Harcombe have reached the final of the Niba mens pairs where they play the van Rensburg brothers at West on Saturday afternoon. Errol Agnew and Calvin Hollis reached the semi finals. Well done to all of them.

The NIBA mens and ladies trips start this Sunday at Lynnwood and Howick. Good luck to our bowlers. 

February Breakfast pairs winners were Dennis and Khwa Khanyile followed by Les and Andrea Whiteman.

All bowlers are welcome at our T T bowls on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8Sunday bowls welcomes new and old bowlers for a great morning at 9am. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Annanda Mustard, Don Joubert and Butch.

Weekly Club Notes 11.03.2018

March winners of our Wednesday mixed  fours sponsored by J Leslie attorneys and MBC were Wilma Halvorson, Trevor Spring, Ken Hooper and Rod Braithwaite.
Ladies from all clubs are welcome at our monthly Ladies bowls and lunch day tomorrow at 8.30. Phone Harriet Sydenham at 0834958044 for details and to confirm attendance.

All bowlers are welcome at our formal tabs in at 8.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Informal bowls on Fridays at 2pm and Sundays at 9.30 is available to everyone. Woods are available at the club. This Sunday wear green for St Patrick’s day fun. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Neil Ashton and Chris Muncaster while Kobus Theron sipped the presidents first touch free drink and Pranill Bookhan received the weekly tie award.
Support our fundraiser meat draw at the 6pm Friday attendance draw (R600) and unlock the lock fundraiser (R12400) on Thursdays also at 6pm. Enquire at the bar.

Weekly Club Notes 20.11.2017

Wilma Halvorsen, Pam Spring, Geraldine van Rooyen and Harriet Sydenham as well as Keith Harcombe, Bob Radcliffe, Brad Burne and Calvin Hollis did us proud by reaching the final of the Niba ladies and mens district fours. Unfortunately both sides went down in their respective finals on the last end.
Congratulations to Kevin Williams and Neil Ashton on winning the mens Club drawn pairs. Runners up were Errol Agnew and Harry Brown.
Entries are closed for our annual Specsavers Atholl Wood men’s fours to be played this Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. Those not playing should come down and watch some good sides compete for great prizes.
Breakfast pairs has concluded for the year and will not be played this Saturday.
Our end of year function and prizegiving takes place on Thursday 14 December at 6pm. The cost is R50 with finger snacks on offer.
All bowlers are welcome at our formal tabs in at 8.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays.
There will be no informal bowls this Sunday due to all three greens being occupied by Atholl Wood bowlers. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Paul Fletcher, Duncan Parsons and Amanda Mustard with George Farren sipping on the presidents first touch free drink.
The kitchen is open Tuesdays to Sundays for breakfast and lunch. There will be no roast this Sunday lunch due to the number of Atholl Wood bowlers to be catered for. Instead small meals will be on offer to spectators.
All members are entered automatically into our weekly 6pm Friday attendance draw but must be present to win. It now stands at R700 with an evening meal and meat draw on offer as well. Thanks go to Save Butchery for their sponsorship in this regard.
